Model United Nations
The Model United Nations provides opportunities to explore the applications of higher order thinking skills and to investigate new approaches in applying what they’ve learned in several subjects. Students emulate the activities of UN delegates in practice sessions and in monthly conferences, but more importantly, they learn such diverse skills as speech making, negotiation, compromise, and position paper writing.
Our conferences
Beyond these skills is the work that goes on under the surface in history, geography, economics, politics, and worldwide relations that help students better understand the represented nation. The model UN is one of our most successful activities to date, growing from a mere eight students to over thirty.
