Our Visit from Quiéreme Como Soy
On Friday October 10th we opened our doors to a group from Foundación Quiéreme Como Soy, Inc., a non-profit organization with the goal of promoting social inclusion of people with special cognitive needs.
We would like to warmly recognize these ambassadors of “Quiéreme Como Soy” for their excellent presentations to our 8th, 10th and 11th grade students. The presentations were passionate and enthusiastic and kept us interested and involved throughout the event. The students participated in a hands-on learning experience in order to get some insight to the struggles of a special needs student.
We are grateful for their visit and would like to share some pictures and words to reflect on.
Some people have special needs which can make it difficult to learn, socialize and/or communicate. Those needs can be heightened or lowered depending on how society sees that person. We must treat others as we would like to be treated.
