Here at SMS we are extremely proud of our students, who performed extraordinarily in all the different activities that they were engaged in during this past weekend!
At the ACCAS Spelling Bee, SMS won as Overall Champions! Our kids worked very hard and enjoyed every minute of the competition.
On Friday, April 13th, our debate teams participated in the New Horizons Debate Tournament. As a result, two of our teams won first place: the Intervarsity category with Eduardo Fernández and Giulio Ferrari and the Novice category with Daniela Lama and Marielena Cornelio.
Saturday and Sunday were filled with energy and enthusiasm!! Our boys’ soccer team made it to the semifinals at the Malta Morena Soccer Cup leaving behind 30 other teams from around the country, while our girls’ soccer team brought home the cup, having finished in first place. Miranda Schall was awarded MVP and will be traveling to Russia for the World Cup! It was an amazing game!
But we are not done yet! This Tuesday, April 17th, our FIRST Lego League Team is going to represent our school and our country at the FIRST Competition in Houston, Texas. We wish them the best of luck! They have worked very hard and we know they will make us proud.
