St. Michael’s School students win 1st and 2nd place in prestigious international Mathematics competition
The MAA “Mathematical Association of America”, this year held the “MAA American Mathematics Competition” (AMC) with the participation of students from 14 different educational entities of our country.
St. Michael’s School students’ Eduardo Fernández of 11th grade and Alexander López of 12th grade, obtained 1st and 2nd place, respectively, in the AMC 12 category, which comprises the entire secondary math curriculum with Trigonometry and Advanced Algebra and Geometry problems. This competition is acknowledged worldwide and is accredited for promoting analytical mathematical thinking, fomenting skills for the solution of problems, and evaluating the academic levels of secondary students.
