TCES (Taller Competitivo de Emprendimiento Social)
On Friday, March 24th, a group of SMS 11th Grade students represented our school during the TCES (Taller Competitivo de Emprendimiento Social) at UNIBE. The goal of this competition was for students to create and present a profitable Business Model with a sustainable social and environmental solution.
Before presenting their project to the judges’ panel, they had to prepare themselves by assisting with several workshops, creating their business plan, designing their display, and presenting their results.
Our SMS team created a “Geo – Block” made out of soil, as a construction solution for those houses that are affected by floods. This Geo-Block is made with a special machine, which can be easily transported from one place to another, and can be used by the local habitants.
The benefits of this project are the low cost, ease of manufacturing, and the low impact in the environment since this product is made out of the land and not in a cement factory.
