The Literary Pageant

The Literary Pageant is an event that promotes and supplements reading in the different genres. The pageant is also an effort to welcome students from 7th-12th grade to challenge themselves in an academic and creative way through activities such as answering questions –in character- using different props and costumes. Some of the novels read by the participants were Percy Jackson, In Cold Blood, The Uglies, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.

Students had a couple of weeks to prepare themselves and the final event took place on February 19, 2016,in the SMS library. The questions were asked by the Language Arts teachers, and the award ceremony took place today, February 29,2016.

The winners were: 1st place  Diana Llavona  8A, 2nd place – Mikael Lehoux 11A, 3rd place – Maria José Tejón 10B. Winning Team – Ana Paula Diep, Ana Lucía Planas, and Isabel Holguin-Veras, Honorary mention – Hermes Severino 7A

Thanks to all the participants and teachers the Literary Pageant was a real success.
